Who is the project aimed at?
Companies and professionals in the agri-food sector, particularly farmers, agricultural engineers, agricultural machinery manufacturers, research centres and technology innovation managers interested in the digitalisation and optimisation of fieldwork.
Project objective
To design, manufacture and validate a sensor-equipped subsoiler capable of mapping soil physical conditions in real time during agricultural operations, with the aim of improving soil management, optimising operations and advancing towards more efficient and sustainable precision agriculture.
Project description
A prototype subsoiler equipped with sensors to collect and interpret soil data during soil decompaction operations. A subsoiler is an implement that loosens the subsoil without disturbing the topsoil, making it useful in areas where the soil has become compacted due to intensive machinery use or natural causes.
By incorporating pressure sensors into the hydraulic pistons and geolocating the data collected every second, the system can generate soil resistance maps, thereby supporting better agronomic decision-making. This digitalisation process will also enable electronic control of the implement and the integration of data into farm management platforms.
With the collaboration of the INNOVI cluster and several technology and agricultural companies, including WAATIC Company, JYMPA FUTURAGRO, AKIS INTERNATIONAL and the winery EUDALD MASSANA, which acted as the end user
Funded by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism)
