Research group: Agricultural Mechanisation Unit (UMA)
Project: GOPHYTOVID - Automatic and universal device for variable-rate application of plant protection products based on vegetation vigour maps.
Web: www.gophytovid.es
Who is the project aimed at?
Winegrowers, technicians and advisors in the wine sector, plant protection product manufacturers, agricultural cooperative managers and precision agriculture researchers, working in both conventional and organic production.
Project objective
To minimise the use of chemical plant protection products in viticulture by applying technologies based on vegetation vigour maps, and to promote the use of bioprotective alternatives to improve pest and disease management through a sustainable and efficient approach.
Project description
Development of an automatic and universal device for variable-rate application of plant protection products. This system is based on vegetation vigour maps, which make it possible to identify the specific needs of each part of the vineyard. One of the project's key tools has been Dosaviña, a mobile application for winegrowers that calculates the optimal dose and volume of plant protection products according to crop conditions. This technology has achieved a reduction of up to 40% in the use of plant protection products in both conventional and organic vineyards, while maintaining treatment efficacy. The project has successfully implemented precision viticulture techniques and high-efficiency spraying equipment, helping to reduce costs, operating time and the environmental impact of plant protection treatments.
Project funded by the National Rural Development Programme (PNDR).
