Who is the project aimed at?

Agricultural professionals, particularly those working in viticulture, as well as agricultural machinery manufacturers and stakeholders interested in digitalisation, sustainability and improving the efficiency of agricultural operations.

Project objective

Develop a digital platform prototype that integrates sensor data to automate and optimise agricultural machinery. Based on artificial intelligence, this platform aims to improve decision-making, increase the efficiency of agricultural operations and contribute to more sustainable resource management.

Project description

An initiative led by the INNOVI cluster, involving several industry stakeholders, including FEMAC, ESTEL, SAHER Maquinaria Agrícola, Recaredo, Gala Media, the CIT technology centre and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC). The project consists of two phases and aims to apply existing digital and sensor technologies to improve traceability and efficiency in the application of plant protection products, particularly in vineyards.

By installing sensors on machinery, real-time data can be collected on its status and location, together with detailed information about crop conditions, such as vegetation density. This data will be automatically transmitted to the digital platform, which will generate vigour maps and help adjust product application rates, optimising use and reducing consumption.

In addition, the system will detect mechanical anomalies (vibrations, temperature, pressure, etc.) before they develop into serious breakdowns, enabling more efficient preventive maintenance. Overall, SENSORECUFIT will promote smarter and more sustainable agriculture by reducing costs, improving resource management and increasing farm profitability.
