Who is the project aimed at
AGROCLAU is a comprehensive consultancy, mentoring and technological support service designed to professionalise and consolidate agricultural and livestock farms under the regenerative agriculture model. It stems from the collaboration between AmbTu and Àgora Regenerativa to address the crisis in generational renewal and sustainability in the Catalan countryside, combining expert guidance with cutting-edge digital tools.
It is primarily aimed at:
- Young entrepreneurs in the primary sector.
- New entrants and small family farms.
- Agricultural and livestock projects seeking to transition to regenerative models.
- Young women in rural areas (with the aim of reducing the gender gap in farm ownership).
Project description
The project is structured around two inseparable pillars:
- Support Programme: Personalised mentoring in production, economic viability, marketing and financing, aligned with Catalonia's Agricultural Generational Renewal Strategy 2023-2027.
- Technological Development (ERP): Creation of a unique digital tool in the country, tailored to the regenerative sector, enabling cost analysis, 3–5-year forecasts and the monitoring of impact indicators.
Expected impact
- Economic: Improved profitability and actual viability of small farms.
- Environmental: Soil regeneration and increased biodiversity through measurable indicators that make environmental value visible.
- Social: Young people returning to farming, reducing the digital divide (currently 68%) and providing support in response to the burden of care responsibilities.
- Knowledge: Creation of an open-data network to analyse the sector's overall sustainability in the long term.
The Polytechnic University of Catalonia, through its research centre Agrotech-UPC, is the strategic partner providing the scientific rigour needed for the project's innovation. We are working on the development of an environmental impact measurement system.
What does it include?
- Definition of key indicators for regenerative agriculture and livestock farming (biodiversity, soil, organic matter, water, microbiology, carbon…)
- Identification of viable measurement methodologies
- Integration of indicators into the ERP
- Cross-analysis of economic performance and environmental impact
- Application of AI to interpret data
