Jan 01, 2014 01:00 PM to Dec 30, 2020 02:00 PM (Europe/Madrid / UTC100)

Research group: WNG. Wireless Networks Group.
Project: CARAMEL. Artificial Intelligence-based cybersecurity for connected and automated vehicles
Who is the project aimed at
Those interested in innovative systems for intrusion prevention and detection (anti-hacking)
Project objective
The objective of CARAMEL is to proactively address modern vehicle cybersecurity challenges by applying advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques, while continuously seeking methods to mitigate the associated security risks.
Project description
CARAMEL develops cybersecurity solutions for the new generation of cars:
- Autonomous cars: cyberattacks do not require physical access to the vehicle or tampering with the communication system.
- 5G-connected vehicles: V2X applications interconnect not only vehicles but also infrastructure and pedestrians, making it essential to protect V2X functions against misuse.
- Electric mobility: unauthorised access to and control of EVSE charging stations, as well as firmware modifications, must be prevented.
Project funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Industrial Leadership programme.
