Who is the project aimed at?

Primarily those responsible for and managing educational buildings, public administrations with responsibility for school infrastructure, architects, engineers and professionals in the sustainable construction sector. It is also aimed at researchers, technicians and institutions working in energy efficiency, indoor air quality, urban circularity and food production in urban environments.

Project objective

To develop, implement and validate a modular natural ventilation system for buildings, with a particular focus on educational centres. The system is designed to improve indoor air quality, reduce energy demand, incorporate circular economy principles and promote urban food production by reusing resources generated within buildings.

Project description

This is an innovative modular natural ventilation solution for buildings, focusing particularly on schools and secondary schools in Catalonia. The system is based on the principles of sustainability and circularity, and aims to ensure a healthy indoor environment, reduce energy consumption and make use of internal building flows as resources.

The project proposes using the CO₂ generated by human respiration indoors to increase agricultural productivity inside buildings, thereby contributing to urban food production. The project also aims to ensure the circularity of water and nutrient flows within the system.
