Sep 01, 2018 01:00 PM to Aug 30, 2023 02:00 PM (Europe/Madrid / UTC200)

Research group: Agricultural Mechanization Unit (UMA)
Project: Pesticide Reduction using Friendly and Environmentally Controlled Technologies.
Web: https://perfectlifeproject.eu/es/
Target audience
The project is aimed at professional technicians working on small and medium-sized farms, although recently graduated students may also be included.
Project objective
Reduce the risks posed by pesticide applications to people, fauna and flora in citrus and viticulture.
Transfer various methods for reducing the pollution generated by pesticide applications and the metabolites resulting from their decomposition to the agricultural stakeholders involved.
Project description
The project aims to demonstrate that it is possible to reduce environmental pollution caused by pesticides and their associated airborne metabolites through tools for adjusting the optimal spray volume and technologies for reducing spray drift, thereby reducing the risk to fauna, flora and human beings. A new, ultra-fast, sensitive technology with high temporal resolution will be developed for pesticide analysis, assessing its application from a human health perspective and under real agricultural conditions.
Project funded by the European Life Programme
The project is coordinated by the Mediterranean Centre for Environmental Studies (CEAM)
Period: September 2018 - October 2023
